Place Cards & Escort Cards | The Wedding Day Details Series

Want to make sure your grandmother has an easily accessible seat away that’s also away from the DJ’s loud speakers? Or, are you having a plated dinner where guests were able to select their preferred entree? Place cards or escort cards are a must-have wedding day stationery item for you!

Place cards are incorporated into each place setting and include the guest’s name. Escort cards, however, are generally displayed and picked up as the guests arrive. Each escort card contains the guest’s name and table number, allowing you to assign tables instead of individual seats.

Sure, it can be a lot of work to assign seating but, sometimes it’s the best way to make sure that your guests have a great experience at your wedding (and also that chairs and place settings aren’t moved around to accommodate one more person!).

Tip: Have fun with it! Use agate slices, magnolia leaves, ribbon, wood – the options are endless for fun ways to use different materials for place cards to make your place settings unforgettable. Using escort cards? Make a visual impact by displaying them on a boxwood wall. Or, if you’re giving away a little trinket to each guest, have it be a part of the escort card
